PROVO — BYU’s basketball program has added another guard to its roster.
Coach Dave Rose announced Tuesday that Jahshire Hardnett has signed a National Letter of Intent and will play for the Cougars this season.
A 6-foot guard from Gulfport, Mississippi, Hardnett averaged 13 points, 3.9 assists and 2.9 rebounds and 1.8 steals at Chipola College in Marianna, Florida. He is a sophomore and he has three years of eligibility remaining.
Hardnett joins Nick Emery, TJ Haws, Zac Seljaas, Elijah Bryant and the newly signed Rylan Bergerson on BYU’s guard line.
Last season at Chipola College, Hardnett shot 56 percent from the floor and 44 percent from 3-point range.
