BYU's McChesney suffers season-ending knee injury; Canada expected to play this week

,

It's been an interesting year, being on the road most of the year so far. Being at home is nice.

PROVO — BYU freshman cornerback Austin McChesney suffered a season-ending knee injury in last Saturday’s win at Cincinnati.

McChesney’s knee will require surgery, according to coach Kalani Sitake.

“It’s unfortunate,” Sitake said. “He was playing great football. He won’t be back this year.”

McChesney intercepted Bearcat quarterback Gunner Kiel in the first quarter and returned it 37 yards. Later in the quarter, McChesney injured his knee while defending on a kick return.
