PROVO — After struggling from the field during the road trip to Gonzaga and Portland earlier this month, BYU freshman guard Nick Emery turned in some strong shooting performances last weekend.
Emery hit 7 of 14 shots, including four 3-pointers, for a team-high 24 points in the Cougars’ victory at Loyola Marymount. He also dished out six assists.
In BYU’s loss at Pepperdine last Saturday, Emery drilled 6 of 17 shots, including four 3-pointers, and finished with 17 points. Combined, he knocked down 8 of 16 from 3-point range in those two road contests.
In the Cougars' two games in the Pacific Northwest, Emery shot 5 of 17 overall with three 3-pointers.
