BYU's depth on defensive line expected to be tested

We’re going to throw them into the fire and hope they get better as time goes on.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — First-year BYU defensive coordinator Ilaisa Tuiaki is installing a four-man front in the Cougar defense this season, and there are questions about the depth at that position.

Senior nose tackle Travis Tuiloma, a proven run-stopper, has been nursing a Lisfranc injury suffered in last December’s Las Vegas Bowl and may not be able to play for a while.

“I’m not going to rush him. He’s probably another month away. We’ll miss him,” said defensive line coach Steve Kaufusi.
