14-seed BYU women's volleyball swept New Mexico State on Friday evening at the Smith Fieldhouse (25-7, 25-23, 25-19).
The Cougars dominated the first set, holding the Aggies to just seven points. With the score 8-6 for the Cougars, Whitney Bower served 19 straight serves as the Cougars went on a 19-1 run to win the set 25-7.
The second set was much closer, with the Aggies unwilling to let BYU extend the lead. BYU held on in a tight one, winning 25-23.
The Aggies would take an early lead in the third set, and the Cougars had a hard time getting over the hump and taking a lead on the Aggies.
