Austin, Texas • Using superior size and depth, Missouri eliminated BYU in the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament on Saturday night, powering past the Cougars 78-69 at Frank Erwin Center in a first-round game.
Lexi Rydalch led BYU with 22 points in her final college game before fouling out, and Missouri outscored BYU 36-26 in the paint and 23-15 from the free-throw line.
Missouri mostly controlled the contest after the Cougars got out to a 13-6 lead and led by as many as 12 points in the third quarter before BYU cut the deficit to 62-60 with 4:22 remaining in the game.
