BYU volleyball returns to the NCAA tourney as a No. 14 seed

A year after making it to the Final Four, BYU women’s volleyball is returning to the NCAA Tournament. The Cougars earned a No. 14 seed and will host the first two rounds of the tournament in the Smith Fieldhouse starting Friday.

It is BYU’s eighth straight NCAA Tournament appearance, dating back to 2012. The Cougars have been one of the 16 seeded teams in six of the last eight tournaments.

“It takes a lot of work each year,” senior libero Mary Lake said. “Being able to play in the NCAA Tournament is never handed to any team.
