BYU's Savannah Ware won both of her singles matches Thursday to advance to the Round of 16 at the ITA Regional Championships held this week at the UNLV campus.
"Savannah played great today. She looked confident and the results showed," BYU head coach Lauren Jones-Spencer said. "She's focused and playing to win."
Ware, seeded eighth in the singles draw, defeated Montana State's Linda Vink in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, to advance to the Round of 32. Against Colorado's Jeannez Daniel in her second match of the day, Ware won the first set 6-2 and trailed 0-1 before Daniel retired resulting in Ware advancing.
