BYU's Brittanie Eraso advanced to the consolation semifinal, while fellow Cougars Toby Miclat and Taylah Beckman reached the doubles final but were defeated 6-2 by Washington State's Donika Bashota and Lize Leeknecht in the BYU Invitational held Friday at the outdoor tennis courts.
"Right now we're heading in the right direction," BYU head coach Lauren Jones-Spencer said. "Today went fine, but we just need to play more tennis so we can make improvements."
Miclat and Beckman defeated Boise State's Teal Vosburgh and Milena Toseva (6-1) in their first match of the day to qualify for the final.
