In its first road match of 2016, the BYU men's tennis team defeated Sacramento State, 4-0, in Hawai'i on Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars (2-0) started the match strong by winning the doubles point. The team of Andrey Goryachkov and Jeremy Bourgeois upset the Hornets' No. 1 doubles team of Kasparas Zemaitelis and Mikus Losbergs, 6-2. They are currently the No. 30 doubles team in the nation.
After Goryachkov and Bourgeois's win, Jacob Sullivan and John Pearce defeated Christopher Clayton and Uli Vollath, 6-2, to claim the second win needed for the doubles point. Keaton Cullimore and Shane Monroe's doubles match did not finish, but they were leading, 5-4.
