BYU’s secondary suffered a blow as starting cornerback Chris Wilcox will be out for the season with a “lower leg fracture.” Coach Sitake said that the injury will not require surgery.
“It’s a lower-leg fracture, he’s out for the season,” Coach Sitake said. “It was unfortunate, just a play that I wish didn’t happen because he’s playing so well right now. It’s not an injury that requires surgery but he’ll be out even for a bowl game with the timing it will take for it to heal. He’s a starter for us, but we have a lot of young guys that need to step up.
