Sophomore Madison Merrell batted in her 23rd run of the season as BYU softball fell 5-1 to Loyola Marymount on Saturday at Gail Miller Field.
“Today we didn’t make the adjustments we needed to make in order to compete,” BYU head coach Gordon Eakin said. “McKenna (Bull) held us in the game until the last inning, but they just took it to us.”
Junior McKenna Bull pitched five scoreless innings for the Cougars and now holds a 15-11 record on the year. LMU's Hannah Bandimere earned the win after pitching the final two innings.
