BYU softball kicks off its six-game home stand with a doubleheader against Southern Utah at Gail Miller Field on Tuesday.
These two teams have a long history, playing 53 games total. BYU leads 48-5 in the series record, going 23-3 at home. The last time these two teams met in April of last season, the Thunderbirds broke the Cougars’ 33-game winning streak against them with an 11-8 win in Provo.
BYU is looking to bounce back after winning just one of three at Texas last weekend. In the first game, the Cougars took the 3-1 win behind Ashley Thompson’s two-run homer in the first inning.
