PROVO — BYU made itself comfortable in the Cincinnati backfield last Saturday, finishing the Cougars’ 38-24 win with eight sacks.
That is the highest sack total for BYU since the team’s 19-15 win over Kansas State in the 1997 Cotton Bowl and ties for the second-highest sack day in Cougar history.
On the year, the Cougars have 24 sacks, tied for third nationally and the most through seven games in the Bronco Mendenhall era.
