Jan Jorgensen, one of BYU's best defensive ends of the last decade and a former graduate assistant coach, has accepted a job as defensive coordinator at Orange Coast Community College in California.
On Friday, driving between Barstow and Baker, California to his new job, Jorgensen explained via phone this is an opportunity for him to expand his resume, get experience and make more contacts to help build a future in coaching.
He said BYU assistant head coach Ed Lamb helped him get the job with a connection he had with OCCC head coach Kevin Emerson after a chat during a recruiting conversation.
