The BYU running back room took another hit as news broke that redshirt freshman Jackson McChesney suffered a lisfranc fracture in BYU’s 55-3 win over Navy and will miss the remainder of the 2020 season.
McChesney saw time in the Navy game earlier this week carrying the ball 11 times for 56 yards and a score. A season ago, McChesney broke the all-time BYU record for rushing yards by a freshman when he rushed for 228 yards in a 32-point win at UMass. Coming out of Lone Peak High School, he was a highly-touted prospect who was recruited by the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Notre Dame, and Oregon.
