BYU QB Mangum's status still uncertain for Saturday's game vs. Wisconsin

PROVO — Going into Saturday’s game against No. 10 Wisconsin, the status of BYU quarterback Tanner Mangum remains uncertain.

Mangum suffered a left ankle or left foot injury on the Cougars’ final offensive play in last Saturday's home 19-13 loss to Utah.

While BYU does not comment on injuries unless they are of the season-ending variety, Mangum reportedly is wearing a protective boot on his foot and has undergone an MRI.

If Mangum is unable to play, sophomore Beau Hoge is expected to get his first career start. The 6-foot-1, 208-pounder from Fort Thomas, Kentucky, redshirted last season after seeing action in three games in 2015 as a freshman.
