An outpouring of support continues to flood in for Elsie Mahe, the 3-year-old daughter of BYU running backs coach Reno Mahe who became entangled in a mini-blind cord on Tuesday at the family's Lehi home and remains hospitalized.
A magnetic resonance imaging scan conducted on Friday revealed that while her basic functions like breathing, coughing and reacting to pain remain unaffected, the upper lobes in her brain "went without oxygen long enough to be devastated," according to an update on her condition on a GoFundMe account established by family friend Jeremy Roberts.
