Zach Wilson’s first career start stole the headlines, but a complete effort on both sides of the ball paced BYU in a convincing 49-23 victory over Hawaii.
Wilson finished 16-24 for 194 yards and 4 total TDs (3 passing, 1 rushing), and BYU’s ground attack provided 280 yards in a game that was never in doubt. BYU’s offensive line opened up huge holes and got big efforts from 3 running backs. Matt Hadley led BYU with 91 rushing yards, and backs Lopini Katoa (83 yards) and Riley Burt (59 yards) punished UH’s defense.
