After a competition that started in Spring and lingered into Fall Camp, BYU OC Aaron Roderick announced Wednesday that Sophomore Jaren Hall will be the starting QB when BYU opens the season September 4 versus Arizona. Hall won the job over freshman Jacob Conover and fellow sophomore Baylor Romney.
Hall was a member of Kalani Sitake’s first recruiting class in 2016 and joined the program in 2018 following his mission. He started two games in the 2019 season before it was cut short due to multiple concussions.
While on the field, Hall showed great arm talent and athleticism that set him apart from every other QB on the roster.
