BYU men's volleyball: Cougars use a makeshift lineup to get by UC San Diego in straight sets

PROVO — It's nice to have quality depth for a variety of reasons, and the BYU men's volleyball team used its depth well on Friday to get by visiting UC San Diego in straight sets (25-21, 26-24, 25-23.)

The No. 3-ranked Cougars made do without top pin-hitters Ben Patch and Brendan Sander, along with their primary libero, Erik Sikes. But no matter, they used seldom used options such as freshmen Storm Fa'agata-Tufuga, Mitchel Worthington, Zach Eschenbert and Miki Jauhiainen, along with junior Tim Dobbert, to do away with the Tritons in straight sets.

But doing so wasn't all that easy, despite the straight-set win.
