BYU Men’s Basketball needs to win the WCC tournament (or shock and win the regular season title) in order to make it to their third straight NCAA tournament.
This week’s games against Gonzaga and Portland (the only West Coast Conference team that BYU has not defeated this season) will prove critical if the Cougars are going to make it to the Big Dance. But, ultimately it is the WCC tournament which will either seal—or destroy—BYU’s chances.
Of course, Dave Rose and company are focused on finishing strong, but a regular season title is only statistically within reach, and if BYU finishes 0-2, 1-1, or 2-0, they will be a 2 or a 3 seed, and will meet Gonzaga in the semifinals.
