PROVO — A little less than one month ago, BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall felt like he was on top of the world.
After the Cougars knocked off Nebraska on the final play on Sept. 5, Mendenhall was running around jubilantly at Memorial Stadium, then crowd-surfing inside the locker room with his players to celebrate an epic victory.
But now BYU has suffered two consecutive painful road losses, including last Saturday’s 31-0 annihilation at the hands of Michigan.
With a short week, the Cougars (2-2) are looking to turn things around Friday (8:15 p.m., MT, ESPN2) when they host Connecticut (2-2).
