SAN DIEGO — Jamaal Williams ran for 210 yards and touchdown as BYU held off Wyoming 24-21 in a rainy and sloppy Poinsettia Bowl.
Playing his last game as a Cougar, Williams broke a school record for 100-yard games. His 36-yard TD-romp gave BYU a commanding 24-7 lead in the fourth quarter.
Wyoming battled back, however, as Josh Allen threw for TD passes of 9 and 23 yards to Tanner Gentry to cut the lead to 24-21. The Cowboys drove to the 32-yard in BYU territory until Kai Nacua picked Allen off with 1:35 to clinch the game for the Cougars.
