LAS VEGAS — BYU has returned to its former home away from home.
The Cougars arrived here Tuesday ahead of their showdown against Utah in the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl Saturday (1:30 p.m., MST, ABC).
Their first practice in Las Vegas is Wednesday morning at UNLV.
For the first time since 2009, BYU is back in the Las Vegas Bowl, after playing here for five consecutive seasons starting in 2005. That year was the Cougars’ first bowl game in four years, a 35-28 loss to California. BYU’s last appearance in the Las Vegas Bowl was a 44-20 thumping of Oregon State five years ago.
