The Associated Press released its college basketball All-American team Tuesday morning and BYU guard Alex Barcello was named an honorable mention. Gonzaga’s Corey Kispert made the first team and teammates Jalen Suggs and Drew Timme made the second team.
Barcello was a First Team All-WCC selection and led BYU in points, assists and steals. Barcello averaged 15.9 ppg, 4.7 apg, 4.7 rpg and 1 steal. He shot 52.2% from the field, 48.6% from three and 85.6% from the foul line. The senior guard bumped up all his averages from his junior year prior while still maintaining or exceeding last year’s already high efficiency.
