Patrick Fishburn, a 23-year-old from Ogden who plays for the BYU golf team, shot a 67 Sunday and won the Salt Lake City Amateur by one shot over Brandon Kida.
SALT LAKE CITY — For Patrick Fishburn, it all turned in a two-hole stretch of the back nine at Bonneville Golf Course Sunday at the Richard C. Kramer Salt Lake City Amateur.
The 23-year-old from Ogden, who will be a junior at BYU next year, was trailing first-day leader Devin Tovey by one shot with four holes to play. That’s when he came up with perhaps his two best shots of the tournament to turn the deficit into a two-stroke lead.
