BYU golf: Rasmussen helps Cougars take first at USF Olympic Intercollegiate Championship

Freshman Rhett Rasmussen led the Cougars to a victory in the USF Olympic Intercollegiate Championship on Tuesday at The Olympic Club Golf Course.

“This was a great team effort,” BYU head coach Bruce Brockbank said. “All five of our players finished in the top 20. They had a lot of confidence. This is a neat, young team. We led the whole tournament. This was an exciting day for us.”

Rasmussen finished the event in third place at 1-under par through 54 holes of play. Patrick Fishburn finished with 1-over par for a fifth-place tie, while Spencer Dunaway ended the two-day tournament at 5-over par and tied for 15th place.
