Yikes.
BYU put up one of the program’s worst performances in recent memory as they got steamrolled by San Diego 80-57 in the WCC tournament quarterfinals.
BYU went down 13-0 early, were down by as many as 44 points and never threatened as they were dominated in every aspect. After beating San Diego in both of the season’s prior meetings — including a 14-point win last Saturday — BYU didn’t look like any semblance of that team that swept the Torreros.
Where does BYU go from here? A NIT bid is in serious jeopardy, and there’s no guarantee BYU would accept a CBI or CIT invitation.
