PASADENA, Calif. — Former BYU linebacker Leon White made the trip from the San Diego area to take in a game where he once lined up and helped deliver a memorable Cougar victory — the Rose Bowl.
In an interview with the Deseret News an hour and a half before kickoff, White called for a BYU victory over No. 10 UCLA Saturday night, which would be an upset, as the Cougars come into the game as 16 1/2-point underdogs.
White, who also knows BYU junior wide receiver Nick Kurtz from the current Cougar's teenage days, said it "would be nice" to see him make the game-winning Hail Mary catch if the Cougars end up scoring a third straight miracle win on a late long touchdown pass.
