BYU football: Travis Tuiloma knee injury requires surgery, likely done for year

BYU nose tackle Travis Tuiloma has likely played his last down for the Cougars.

BYU defensive coordinator Ilaisa Tuiaki told reporters Tuesday that the 6-foot-2, 210-pound senior suffered a knee injury against Boise State. It will require surgery, KSL's Sean Walker reported.

Tuiloma has been hampered by injuries the past two seasons. He played in just nine games as a junior in 2015, including suffering a Lisfranc fracture during the fourth quarter of the Cougars' 35-28 loss to Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Tuiloma was still recovering from that injury when the 2016 season started, and he didn't play until BYU's fourth game, against West Virginia.
