When BYU football’s fall camp roster came out on Aug. 3, the Salt Lake Tribune noted the absence of 3-star freshman Chinonso Opara, a defensive lineman out of Juan Diego High School who was a rising recruit as a football newcomer and chose the Cougars over Utah.
An unnamed spokesperson said Opara was among players not currently with the team but “could be in the future.”
Saturday, we learned that won’t be the case.
Opara is now in camp with Weber State, according to a report from the Standard-Examiner.
“Opara offers immense potential for BYU’s line.
