A longtime BYU commit made that official Wednesday during the 2019 early signing period. Three-star Utah athlete Blake Freeland signed to BYU.
Freeland (82.65 rating on 247 composite) is a 6-foot-8, 260-pound athlete from Herriman High School, where he played quarterback, tight end, fullback and defensive line. He committed to BYU in June 2017 prior to his junior season.
BYU is likely signing Freeland to play offensive line.
At his size, he still has the agility and hands to play tight end. As a senior, Freeland caught 13 passes for 167 yards and a touchdown for the Mustangs.
