Signing day usually brings limited surprises but Joe Critchlow changing his commitment to BYU was one on Wednesday. Joe originally committed to Southern Utah before his mission in 2015. He attended Franklin HIgh School in the Nashville area. Vanderbilt wanted the star QB but the coaches took the offer back since he was serving an LDS mission.
Joe was 6-4 and 210lbs prior to is mission and hopefully he is able to use that size to his advantage for BYU. He also held offers from Mercer, Tennessee-Martin and Alabama Birmingham.
Perhaps a big reason for his mind changing is that then Southern Utah head coach Ed Lamb when Critchlow committed is now on the BYU staff.
