PROVO — There is a learning curve going on for the BYU defensive line right now.
The Cougars' top player along the line from 2015, Bronson Kaufusi, is on an NFL roster now. And BYU is moving to a 4-3 defensive scheme.
Toss in some lingering injuries to key players along the defensive line, and it opens the chance for younger players to make an impression in fall camp.
Coaches are confident the transitions are coming along well.
"It's not like we are doing something that's such a huge departure from what they already know," BYU coach Kalani Sitake said, while noting BYU will utilize multiple fronts, including three defensive linemen fronts like they had under former coach Bronco Mendenhall.
