BYU received some great news Wednesday afternoon when Marty Hoge, father of Notre Dame transfer Tristen Hoge, announced that Tristen will receive an additional year of eligibility.
This means that following this season, Tristen will be a redshirt sophomore in 2018 and have 3 seasons to play. Had the NCAA not granted his waiver, he would have been a redshirt junior in 2018. Hoge must sit out this season due to NCAA transfer rules.
Hoge transfered to BYU from Notre Dame over the summer. In 2015, Hoge was the number one center in the nation by virtually every reputable recruiting outlet.
