BYU football notebook: Mammoth lineman Jaterrius Gulley switches sides for Cougars

PROVO — With the rigors and uncomfortable aspects of being a first-year player behind him, BYU offensive lineman Jaterrius Gulley is fitting in better and showing good strides in his second season.

Gulley is a 6-foot-2, 340-pound offensive lineman from Hoover, Alabama. He signed with BYU as a defensive line prospect but was switched over to offense prior to the 2015 season, in a move that came as a surprise to the mammoth lineman.

“I was not expecting it at all and it was a big adjustment for me in every way,” Gulley said. “But coach (Garett) Tujague has been great pushing me and teaching me how to play the position and to feel more comfortable playing on the offensive side.
