BYU football: Former TE Devin Mahina voted to Salt Lake Screaming Eagles roster

Devin Mahina played for BYU football from 2010-14. He caught 46 passes for 554 yards and five touchdowns while in Provo and participated in the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

He spent a few months with the Washington Redskins, but never recorded a stat in the NFL.

Now he’s got another chance to make plays on the football field. This time Mahina will be suiting up with the Salt Lake Screaming Eagles of the Indoor Football League.

But he made it in a unique way.

Mahina was voted on to the roster by the fans. The Screaming Eagles were announced in April 2016 by Project FANchise – a group that wanted to create a fan-operated football team.
