Yesterday ESPN released an article that talked about “Position U” which rated the top ten teams based off of every major position in college football. While it was no surprise to see BYU as No. 10 for tight ends with players like Gabe Reid, Daniel Coats, Dennis Pitta, Jonny Harline mentioned (no Chad Lewis or Gordon Hudson?) it was a surprise to not see the Cougars ranked in the QB section.
While I cannot blame the writer for not knowing perfectly how good BYU quarterbacks have been in the past, I find it amazing that in the 37 years of the Davey O’Brien Award the Cougars have claim to four of those and seven Sammy Baugh Trophy winners in the 60 year history which alone should put them in the Top 10.
