PROVO — Both BYU quarterbacks Taysom Hill and Tanner Mangum played well in the Cougars' easy 37-7 victory over Southern Utah at LaVell Edwards Stadium.
By beating SUU in its first-ever game agains the Thunderbirds, BYU earned its sixth victory of the season to become eligible for the Poinsettia Bowl.
Hill, who started the game and got most of the work Saturday afternoon, completed 22 of 29 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns. Mangum played a series in the first half and most of the second and completed 10 of 12 passes for 105 yards.
