Provo • Add Westminster College to the list of local schools that will be happy to see BYU’s Yoeli Childs move on to the next level of basketball.
Childs, a junior who returned to BYU after testing the NBA draft waters last spring, posted a double-double — 14 points and 14 rebounds — as the Cougars walloped the visiting Griffins 72-43 at the Marriott Center.
BYU won last year’s matchup 76-62, but had a much easier time with the Salt Lake City school Thursday as Westminster coach Norm Parrish put out a revamped lineup that played well in spurts, but had trouble finishing at the rim against BYU’s superior size.
