BYU added another impact player to next season’s roster as UVU graduate transfer and former Oklahoma State player Brandon Averette announced his commitment. Averette will be immediately eligible and has one season left to play.
Averette played his first two seasons at Oklahoma State, averaging over 5 ppg in each of those seasons before sitting out the 2018-2019 season after transferring to UVU. Averette was recruited to UVU by the current BYU coaching staff and was with them for a year while he sat out. He played this past season as a redshirt junior under Mark Madsen and was named to the WAC newcomer team after averaging 12.
