BYU announced the first signee of its the 2019 recruiting class in Timpview guard Nate Hansen.
The 6’3”, 165 lbs point guard also had scholarship offers from Portland, UC Davis and UC Irvine. He plans to serve a Church mission after high school before enrolling at BYU.
Hansen averaged 15 points per game this as junior and was teammates with guard Hunter Erickson, a signee in BYU’s 2018 class.
Hansen was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder known as rhabdomyolysis in March 2017, and spent the summer and fall recovering. Darnell Dickson of the Daily Herald reported on Hansen’s inspiring story earlier this year.
