Just a few days after securing the commitment of Chinese/California big man Shengzhe Li, BYU basketball added another player with international ties to its 2019 recruiting class Saturday.
Bernardo Da Silva, a Brazilian forward currently attending the prestigious Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah, announced his commitment to BYU on Instagram.
Da Silva, a 6-foot-9 senior, also held offers from Utah State, Grand Canyon, Cal State Fullerton and CS Bakersfield.
He scored a season-high 18 points in a Nov. 2017 game, according to the Deseret News, though complete statistics for his team appear to be unavailable.
