Changes are always bound to happen after a coaching change, and BYU appears to be losing one of its three class of 2019 signees.
Chinese big man Shengzhe Li announced on his twitter account that he will re-open his recruitment “due to recent coaching changes.” Li requested the release from his National Letter of Intent and Mark Pope obliged.
Li spent the last two seasons of high school in southern California after growing up in China. He was considered a developmental progress coming in, but showed signs of growth during his junior and senior year. BYU could still retain Li if the Coach Pope decides to pursue, but that seems unlikely.
