PROVO — Eric Mika had 26 points and 10 rebounds to lift BYU past in-state rival Weber State 77-66 at the Marriott Center on Wednesday.
After being held in single digits in the first half, Mika got going in the second half for the Cougars (6-3) and helped foul out two of the Wildcats' big men, Zach Braxton and Kyndahl Hill.
Weber State (2-6) fought its way back into the game after falling behind by double digits early in the second half, using a 10-0 run to cut the Cougar lead to 41-38.
The Wildcats eventually tied the game at 47-all on a pair of back-to-back Ryan Richardson 3-pointers, but BYU responded with a Mika and-1 off an assist from TJ Haws.
