Kyle Collinsworth won’t just be switching time zones to stay in the NBA, he’ll be switching countries.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski the former BYU Basketball star has signed a partially guaranteed deal with the Toronto Raptors. With the deal he’ll be a part of Toronto’s training camp, but a regular-season roster spot isn’t guaranteed.
With a partially guaranteed contract, a player receives an agreed upon portion of the NBA minimum to attend training camp. Even if that player doesn’t make the regular season roster, he’ll still be paid that amount.
That benefits a player who’s trying to earn a roster spot, since they’ll get their shot and get paid for doing it.
