Kaufusi is in San Diego with BYU's football team preparing for Wednesday's Poinsettia Bowl and said last week that he will begin practicing with the basketball team on Dec. 26.
"I think we have a great team," Kaufusi said after attending the 79-71 win over Colorado on Dec. 10. "The feel of the team is really good. And we've always had great teams all along, guys who love each other and whatnot. But this year the guys seem a lot closer and one of the big things is there is so much potential. All of the guys have amazing potential, so we have to work together to use that potential to the fullest.
