Woods Cross High's Trevin Knell announced on Twitter late Monday night that he has committed to play basketball for BYU and will sign with the Cougars after he completes a two-year LDS Church mission to Uruguay.
Knell, a 6-foot-5 guard known for his shooting ability, said on the social media website that he will attend BYU in 2019.
Knell signed a National Letter of Intent with UC Berkeley last November, but asked to be released from it last month when Golden Bears coach Cuonzo Martin left for Missouri. California obliged.
