STOCKTON, Calif. — It was a day of firsts for the BYU Cougars: The first win of 2016; the first conference win of the season and the first win on an opponent's home floor.
But the performances by Chase Fischer and Kyle Collinsworth weren't new. The two players combined for 45 points, nine rebounds and 10 assists to help BYU defeat the University of the Pacific 81-67 Saturday afternoon.
Both figured in two key turning points of the game. The the game was a back-and-forth affair until Fischer hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer right before halftime to cap a 9-0 BYU run in final minute of the first half.
